Key issues:
1. Radionuclides: Uranium is naturally occurring in our mountain environment. The uranium in our water supply is not new; the regulations are. We are working with engineers and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The Water Treatment Plant was completed in February 2012; as a result, the continued testing shows the uranium levels well below the required standard.
2. Ammonia: Our wastewater effluent must be treated to remove ammonia according to state regulations that protect aquatic life. A new Wastewater Treatment Plant finished construction in 2015.
